Hey friends! I’m Amanda…or Mandy…or just Spoo.
My story leans heavily on the belief that we can have both strong roots and wings. I’m Eastern Oregon born and raised, and left my roots to study agriculture communications at Kansas State University. My career landed me in my dream city of Washington, D.C., for many years, where I soaked up the chance to live in my history books. I also fulfilled teenage Amanda’s once-forgotten dream and picked up a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications at Georgetown University. And in 2022, I finally found my way back home to be closer to my family.
I’m currently living in my auntie era and have absolutely drank the K-State purple Kool-aid. I almost always have a cup of coffee in my hand and usually laugh a little too loud. I spend way too much time creating new playlists on Spotify and back before streaming services took over, I owned every season of Criminal Minds and Gilmore Girls on DVD. I am happiest at the family cabin in the Blue Mountains and prefer to take my stress out on a boxing bag. Oh, and I wish I still lived close to a Trader Joe’s.
